Design ideas
I started by creating a selection of different sketches. I used this process to explore a variety of different shapes, sizes and forms that a speaker housing could potentially use. Sketching is a very useful method to the start of any design process. Creating sketches allows you to quickly put down ideas without having to think too much into them. This helps you to explore a selection of designs removing the need to consider restrictions, such as dimensions, fixings and how the parts would be manufactured.
I often find that after drawing out initial ideas I take forward aspects from a series of designs rather than just trying to think of one idea and moving on it allows for more original creations and combinations. After sketching out these initial ideas I used them as inspiration and transferred the different concepts forward to help ideas a form that would end up being the housing for this speaker.
